"Loved beyond words and missed beyond measure"

BLEED KITS

So far, we've raised well over £20,000 from our various Bleed Kit fundraising activities. We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made a donation to the cause. You've all made a big difference!

With knife crime on the rise amongst our younger generation, it is vital that others feel safe when going out with friends in and around the city. We have installed a number of Bleed Kits at locations around the Tyne & Wear area. They can potentially save lives and help to make the public feel safer. The Fixed Unit Bleed Kits are linked to the ambulance service. If the kits are needed, the ambulance service will direct the caller to the nearest Fixed Unit and give a combination code that will unlock he unit. The items inside the kit are designed for catastrophic bleeding and the caller will be guided on how to use the equipment. It is important to have both Fixed Unit and Mobile Bleed Kits installed at many different places so that they are easily accessible when they are most needed.

Our fundraising efforts are so important as we continue to install more and more kits, alongside educating our young people about the dangers of knife crime with a view to prevention. Too many of our young people are losing their lives and after all, they are our future so we need to act now. The Bleed Kits can be accessed for any type of emergency situation where catastrophic bleeding occurs, such as traffic accidents. They will give the patient the vital care they need in those first few minutes before emergency services arrive, which could potentially save their life.

We have created a list containing the locations of both Fixed Unit and Mobile Bleed Kits, which we have installed across the Tyne & Wear area. You can download this list here.

In addition to this, we have created a Google map, which shows all locations of our Bleed Kits, along with their ‘What 3 Words’. You can download the What 3 Words app here. The map key is very simple. The purple stars show our Fixed Unit Bleed Kits, whilst the green stars show our Mobile Bleed Kits.
